FAQ

Payroll outsourcing in Mexico: frequently asked questions

What is payroll outsourcing in Mexico?

It means hiring a specialist to process your company's Mexican payroll: salary calculation, CFDI pay slips, IMSS enrollment, social security payments through SUA, Infonavit, Fonacot and state payroll tax. Your employees remain employed by your company; Givel runs the process.

How much does payroll outsourcing cost in Mexico?

At Givel it ranges from MXN $65 to $250 per employee per pay period, plus VAT. The rate decreases by headcount tier and depends on pay frequency (weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly or monthly). We send you a proposal with a breakdown of every service.

Is payroll outsourcing legal in Mexico after the 2021 outsourcing reform?

Yes. Payroll processing is a service: we do not provide staff to you or employ your workers. Your company remains the employer before IMSS and SAT, and we process its payroll.

What happens if a fine or surcharge comes up?

We review it with you and resolve it. If it cannot be resolved and is attributable to our service, Givel covers 100% of the fines, surcharges and inflation adjustments. This guarantee is written into the contract.

What does a Mexican payroll provider handle?

Weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly and monthly payroll; CFDI e-invoicing; IMSS filings; SUA; Infonavit; Fonacot; state payroll tax; final settlements and severance; profit sharing (PTU); Christmas bonus (aguinaldo); annual income tax adjustment; reports and accounting entries.

Which cities in Mexico do you cover?

All of Mexico. Our team works from Monterrey, Mexico City, Saltillo, León, Aguascalientes, Puebla and Mérida, and we serve clients in 15 Mexican states and in the United States.

What happens if there is a payroll error?

We fix it at no cost. If the error is ours, we pay 100% of the resulting fines, surcharges and inflation adjustments. This guarantee is written into the contract.

How long does payroll implementation take?

It depends on the number of companies, employer registrations and the information available. We build your implementation file in parallel and go live once the test payroll matches your current payroll.

Which payroll software do you use?

Nomikhor, our online payroll system connected to IMSS and Infonavit. It includes the Concierge module, where employees request leave, vacations and sick days from the app, and the Khor time clock on web and app.

Which languages do you support and how can I reach you?

We serve clients in Spanish and English; other languages are supported through translation and AI. Message us on WhatsApp at +52 81 2396 1189 or email info@grupogivel.com, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm (Mexico City time).
